Continuing Medical Education Program

To offer patients the best care, doctors must continue to educate themselves about important developments in medicine throughout their careers. One of the most poignant examples of this need is the dearth of understanding in the medical community about the body’s endocannabinoid system and cannabinoid therapy.

The endocannabinoid system is a set of neuromodulating receptors on cells located in the brain and nervous system. These tiny structures play an important role in appetite regulation, pain-sensation, mood, and memory. Cannabinoids (the bioactive chemicals in cannabis) interact with this system, and in some ratios assist the endocannabinoid receptors in modulating physiological processes.

Though the endocannabinoid system plays a critical role in health, and cannabinoids can be used safely and effectively to treat a variety of diseases and symptoms, very few medical schools around the world instruct aspiring doctors about them. CITIVA hopes to change this with our Continuing Medical Education (CME) program.

Through seminars, interactive software, and individual consultation, CITIVA’s CME program engages the medical community to facilitate a broader understanding of cannabinoid therapies. CITIVA is seeking to maximize its engagement with the medical community so if you are a health professional we encourage you to contact us with any questions.
